Hi Melinda and thanks for writing in! You sound like a great pet parent. :-)

Unfortunately, some people I know NEVER wash their dog bowls. I have one friend who I mentioned washing her very dirty dog bowl to, and she said, "they need that?" Eeeks!

So for most people, a good dishwasher run once a week is a real step up. :-)

Just for general info, pets need clean bowls, clean water and healthy food the same way we do. A lot of gastrointestinal pet issues could be resolved by applying the same hygiene habits to our pets that we use on ourselves.
